Το Nōema Studio ανέλαβε την ανακαίνιση ενός παλιού στάβλου, με στόχο να τον μεταμορφώσει σε μια λειτουργική τουριστική κατοικία που διατηρεί την οικειότητα της μικροκλίμακας του χωριού και τα αυθεντικά χαρακτηριστικά του τόπου. Με σεβασμό στη μνήμη του κτηρίου, τμήματα της λιθοδομής διατηρήθηκαν εμφανή, ενώ οι υπόλοιπες επιφάνειες επεξεργάστηκαν με λευκό σοβά, δημιουργώντας μια ισορροπία ανάμεσα στο παραδοσιακό και το σύγχρονο.

Τα έπιπλα σχεδιάστηκαν ως χτιστές κατασκευές – κρεβάτια και καναπέδες που συνεχίζουν τη γλώσσα της λιτότητας και της αυθεντικότητας – ενώ στο κοινόχρηστο χώρο επανατοποθετήθηκαν ξύλινα δοκάρια στην οροφή, ενισχύοντας την αίσθηση ζεστασιάς και σύνδεσης με το αρχικό κτίσμα.

Η καθαρότητα των γραμμών και η κυριαρχία του λευκού χρώματος συναντούν την υλικότητα της πέτρας και του ξύλου, συνθέτοντας μια κατοικία που ισορροπεί ανάμεσα στο παλιό και το νέο, τη μνήμη και τη σύγχρονη άνεση. Ξεχωριστό στοιχείο του σπιτιού αποτελεί το μπάνιο, όπου ένα κάθετο άνοιγμα φέρνει φυσικό φως στο χωρο και δημιουργεί μια ατμόσφαιρα απρόσμενης εξωστρέφειας και ηρεμίας.

Nōema Studio undertook the renovation of an old stable, with the aim of transforming it into a functional holiday residence that preserves both the intimacy of the village’s small-scale fabric and the site’s authentic character. Respecting the building’s memory, portions of the original stone masonry were left exposed, while the remaining surfaces were finished with white plaster, creating a balanced dialogue between the traditional and the contemporary.

The furniture was conceived as built-in elements—beds and sofas that continue the language of simplicity and authenticity—while in the communal area, wooden ceiling beams were reinstated, enhancing the sense of warmth and reinforcing the connection to the original structure.

Clean lines and a predominantly white palette meet the materiality of stone and wood, shaping a dwelling that negotiates the boundary between old and new, memory and modern comfort. A distinctive feature of the house is the bathroom, where a vertical opening introduces natural light into the space, cultivating an atmosphere of unexpected openness and tranquility.
